Myths about life.

Everyday people are constantly telling us how to do thing. From an child to an elderly person, there will be someone telling us how we should or shouldn't live our lives, but the question is whether what we are taught is actually the right thing.

Should we all be grooming ourself to look as good as supermodels or should we be working hard enough to be as rich as Carlos Slim?

Wait a minute. Is that what we are supposed to do all our life ? Find a way to be successful? Is that why we were born ??

I would disagree with that, cause life is so much more than just to become successful. Not everyone on Earth is blessed with money and looks. If you follow this selfish journey of becoming successful, you are going to miss out on the best things in life which you cannot reverse time to catch up with.

1. Materials.

Stop buying things you don't need, just to prove your worth. Some people don't even care, even if they do, it's only for time being. So why waste money to please others? If it makes you feel good about yourself when you spend money of materials, then no one is stoping you. The Generation Y has been spoilt to not see the value of money anymore and they tend to think money drops from the sky and I don't blame them because they are spoilt because they have been spoon fed all their life and their parents are to be blamed. This has to stop to change our lives for the better. Parents should reward their children only when they deserve it. Educate your children of the importance of money and not to be materialistic.

2. Jobs.

Being an Asian, I have multiple experiences of people telling me and others around me that we should be a doctor, lawyer, engineer, and accountant. I'm not sure if this is applicable for everyone but what I am trying to say is people tell you that those jobs are the ideal jobs. Should you listen? I don't think so. Because not everyone enjoys working in hospitals, or love physics & maths. Everyone has their own preference of what they want to be and most important ly whatever job you do, do it passionately and be dedicated to it. For that to happen, you have to enjoy what you do. Even though, doctors and lawyers are highly paid, the money wouldn't matter if the job was a nerve wreck.

3. What others think of you.

Have you been in a situation where someone has told you not to do something because people might think wrongly about you ? Society has constantly been telling us how to live our lives and this has to stop. Society is the main cause of bullying. One is mocked for being different, how does bullying justify anything? We are all different in many ways and it should be embraced. Stop letting others' thoughts about you stop you from being who you are and doing what you love.
